Electrical Networks with Aaron

Below are materials for SI Leader Aaron’s Electrical Networks, instructed by Fahim, section 1, Spring 2017.

Hello students! Below is the list of all of my S.I. times for the semester:

  • Tuesday from 12:00pm-12:50pm in CB1 220
  • Thursday from 12:30pm-1:20pm in CB1 103
  • Thursday from 2:30pm-3:20pm in CB1 107
  • Thursday from 4:30pm-5:20pm in BHC 128
  • Wednesday from 7:30pm-8:20pm online (see directions below)

To access the online session, use the following link and make sure “Enter as a Guest” is selected. You can use any name from your birth name to Batman, just don’t make it profane or offensive, and use “OPAL” as the room passcode:

Helpful Links

So the hyperlinked circuit simulator applet (click me) is a useful little applet for building simple circuits yourself and testing their current/voltage values. I find it helpful for when I have trouble solving a problem and want a similar one with different numbers to see if I understood the solution. I just build the circuit in this applet, change the values I want to change, and then use it to make sure I got the right answer when I rework my problem! Make sure to click the “Run/STOP” button before editing the circuit. Then hold down <Delete> on your keyboard and hover over the components you want to get rid of. Then look for the components you want to add under the “draw” tab on the top bar (inductors and capacitors are under “passive components”), and start making your circuit! Double click on a component to edit it, and use “Reset” for circuits with capacitors and inductors where you want to re-watch the initial response of the circuit.
